Julio Tha Kydd
Julio Tha Kydd, born July 20, in Berkeley,Ca. This 19 year old musician has come a long way since 2001. At age 11 he spit his 1st free style rap which caught the attention of family and friends. After a 2 year debate about persuing music, Julio landed himself in front of Grope(Richmond Music Pioneer). Grope named the 19 year old, who was 13 at the time "Julio Fontaine". Grope showed Julio the ropes and as Julio got older he branched off and added his middle alias "Tha Kydd". Julio "Tha Kydd" Fontaine merged with AG of The Arrang-A-Tang Gang to become the third member. After a few songs Guce of Bully's With Fully's caught wind of the trio and sat them down to talk business. Before releasing their first group album, The Arrang-A-Tang's split for solo projects, figuring it would make for a better fan base by attacking and grouping different audiences. The group split in 2007, which left Julio with no thoughts about quitting for good. In 07-08 Julio collabed with EnP, Jynx from "Go Dav", and Peanut of M.G.M/Thizz as well as Meezy Tha Boy(1/4 of The Arrang-A-Tang Gang). In the last 5 years Julio has been plotting on series of mixtapes to lead up to his album.In 2009, Julio released May 22nd: The Day Hell Broke Loose, a ode to his big brother Johnny McFly. A mixtape with the hottest tracks Julio has appeared on and has created over the last 2 years. With hits like "In Love With Money", "Let Me Know", "On My Grind" and "Live From The Hood" head lining the mixtape, it is safe to say, Richmond is the next city to bring Cali back on the scene. Following May 22nd's release will be "Loot, Loyalty and Lust" which drops July 20, 2009. Julio has an idea of what the game is missing and delivers more then what has been lost.
